Advance Physiotherapy is a specialist Performing Arts Physiotherapy service based onsite at the Performers College Essex and Birmingham campuses, supporting the pre-professional performing arts students and staff of the college. Our patient-centred approach focuses on each dancer’s recovery and long-term performance, with tailored support for the demands of training. Our structured recovery pathway guides students from injury to full return to performance, promoting safe healing and long-term success. We work collaboratively with students, staff, wellbeing services, and external professionals to provide a coordinated, supportive approach to recovery and performance.
Our recovery pathway guides students from initial injury through to full return to performance. Each step is tailored to support safe, effective healing and long-term success in their studies and career.
Our physiotherapy appointments can be booked for the assessment and management of musculoskeletal injuries, or specific strength and conditioning guidance, injury risk reduction relating to your dance goals. For further information and booking procedure please access our BIMM Sharepoint page.
Advance Physiotherapy recruits only highly specialised dance/sport physiotherapists with extensive knowledge and experience in dance and performing arts injuries and return to performance requirements to guide you through assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of your injury.
Vocal Physiotherapy is hands‑on, performer‑focused care for your voice, much like physiotherapy for a dancer’s body. It supports people who experience vocal tension, fatigue, strain, hoarseness, loss of range, voice breaks, or who are returning to singing after illness or vocal injury.
We offer evidence based Dance Injury Risk assessments to allow the dancer to identify and improve risk factors for injury before they occur. This also helps enhance performance, by providing personalised strength and conditioning programs and injury prevention strategies. Our physiotherapists work with athletes of all levels to help them improve their performance and reduce the risk of injuries.
Advance Physiotherapy works closely with many medical specialists from Sports and Exercise Medicine, orthopaedic and podiatric consultants, registered dieticians and nutritionists, chartered psychologists, podiatrists, strength and conditioning coaches and many more.
