Advance Physiotherapy was founded by Amanda Huke-Smith at Performers College Essex, with a vision to provide truly specialist, personalised care. The service quickly gained recognition for its expertise, compassion, and understanding of performers’ unique needs, leading to the opening of a second clinic at the Performers College Birmingham campus.
Alongside this, Amanda’s wider work across private clinics and hospital settings enabled her to develop a strong reputation among both her patients and the wider multidisciplinary team, recognised for her collaborative approach, clinical expertise, and commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Driven by passion for collaboration and comprehensive care, Amanda and the Advance Physiotherapy team, work closely with a wide network of consultants, strength and conditioning specialists, and other allied health professionals to support each patient’s recovery. This has helped shape a truly integrated approach that can benefit a broader community, leading to the creation of a dedicated private clinic and making the Advance Physiotherapy ethos accessible to all.
At the heart of our clinic is a simple belief: listening comes first. We take the time to understand each individual and work alongside them with care, expertise, and determination to help them achieve their goals and feel like themselves again.
Amanda was amazing, and helped me to not only treat my injuries, but also ensure that I did not get injured again. The exercises that were set in place to prevent my injuries reoccurring, and slowly get me back dancing, were challenging but manageable, and I always felt supported and encouraged.

Amanda’s expertise and support were invaluable throughout my recovery. Through a tailored exercise programme she helped me regain strength, confidence, return to training safely, but also improved my dance.
